Co-Sponsors: Collegiate Veterans Association--Alpha Chapter (FSU), the National Veterans Foundation, North Florida Vietnam Veterans Association

Purpose: To encourage collaboration among universities, military, and veteran studies institutions and colleagues that lead to significant breakthroughs in understanding and helping warfighters and their families recover from and thrive after war-related experiences in keeping withe Abraham Lincoln's reminder to finish the work [4].

Objectives: Those who attend this Symposium are more able to

  1. Identify at least five major challenges facing returning war fighters and their families.
  2. List at least one solution for each of the five challenges noted above.
  3. Explain the third byproduct of combat stress injuries in addition to trauma and fatigue.
  4. Note at least three examples of programs inside our outside the military designed to prevent or treat combat stress injuries.

Accommodations : The new Marriott Residence Inn is one block away offers reduced rates to the first 20 registrants starting January 8th for the Symposium (Feb 16th). Also, the Tallahassee Visitor's Bureau provides a list of area hotels and motels .
