Johnston Ground (the ground floor of the newly renovated William Johnston Building – Directions) houses many resources for students at the Florida State University:

The ACE Learning Studio – The Academic Center for Excellence provides personal academic consultations, study skills workshops, academic success courses, and free peer tutoring in a number of subjects.  Tutoring is available ‘by appointment’ and on a walk in basis. Study rooms, desktop computers, laptops, and iPads are available for student use.

The Advising First Center for Exploratory Advising – The Advising First Center for Exploratory Students offers specialized advising services to freshman students who are not yet ready to declare a departmental major. Students in the Exploratory major are introduced to valuable tools and resources that assist with this important decision, and work closely with an assigned academic advisor until a departmental major is selected.

The Advising First Center for Success Coaching – Success Coaches are dedicated to helping students get the most out of their college experience. Pre-selected students will receive one-on-one attention from a coach committed to student development and success. Coaches work closely with resources across campus to support students in achieving their personal, academic, and other professional goals.

Reading / Writing Center – We offer free one-on-one reading and writing tutorials for all FSU students. Our staff consists of both graduate and undergraduate students whose mission is to provide feedback that will help you to develop as readers and writers of all texts.

The Digital Studio – We offer free one-on-one sessions for help with digital assignments as well as tutorials for learning various computer softwares. This facility is available for all FSU students. Our mission is to provide feedback that will help you to develop as readers and creators of digital and multimodal texts.
